MAKING THE CUT - MARKANTOINE

En décembre dernier, j’ai eu la chance de tourner MAKING THE CUT à L.A., entouré de personnes extraordinaires : l’incroyable et très sympathique équipe de production, des designers talentueux qui sont aujourd’hui de véritables ami.e.s, Tim Gunn (un ange venu du ciel) et les juges, qui ont su faire naître en moi des émotions que je n’avais encore jamais ressenties (ahahah). J’ai créé plus de 30 pièces et accessoires en 6 défis, 11 looks, pour 2 minutes et demie à l’écran (lol), tout en gardant toujours les yeux rivés sur le million de dollars (#moula, comme dirait Heidi).

Même si tous les commentaires incroyables que j’ai reçus des juges n’ont pas passé au montage, cette expérience a été une formidable plateforme pour montrer au monde toute la diversité de mon travail. Mon approche était axée sur le menswear, le womenswear et le genderless, même si j’ai toujours eu l’impression que les robes gagnaient (en fait, ce n’est pas une impression, c’est vrai AHAHA). Mon authenticité en a peut-être choqué certain.e.s et diverti d’autres, mais je quitte cette aventure la tête haute et avec quelques flèches de plus à mon arc. Je suis très fier d’absolument TOUT ce que j’ai accompli et je crois que c’est important de le crier haut et fort. Et maintenant? I AM READY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD! Et attention, MTC ALL STARS, I’m more than ready! Je vous aime (particulièrement mes collègues designers xxx).

Last December, I had the chance to shoot MAKING THE CUT in L.A., surrounded by extraordinary people: the incredible and super-friendly production team, talented designers who have become true friends, Tim Gunn (an angel from heaven), and the judges, who brought out emotions in me that I had never experienced before (ahahah). I created more than 30 pieces and accessories across 6 challenges, 11 looks, for 2 and a half minutes of screen time (lol), all while keeping my eyes on the million dollars (#moula, as Heidi would say).

Even though all the amazing comments I received from the judges didn’t make the final edit, this experience was an incredible platform to showcase the diversity of my work to the world. My focus was on menswear, womenswear, and genderless fashion, even though I always felt like dresses won (actually, it’s not just a feeling — it’s true AHAHA). My authenticity may have shocked some and entertained others, but I’m leaving this adventure with my head held high and a few more arrows in my quiver. I’m incredibly proud of absolutely EVERYTHING I accomplished, and I think it’s important to say it loud and clear. So, what’s next? I AM READY TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!
